Effective two-body approach to the hierarchical three-body problem

چکیده
The motion of three bodies can be solved perturbatively when a tightly bound inner binary is orbited by distant perturber, giving rise for example to the well-known Kozai-Lidov oscillations. We propose study relativistic hierarchical three-body orbits adapting Effective Field Theory techniques used in two-body problem. This allows us conveniently treat as an effective point-particle, thus reducing complexity problem simpler spinning motion. present details mapping between osculating elements and resulting spin point-particle. Our builds towards derivation analytic waveforms.

Effective Interactions for the Three-Body Problem
The three-body energy-dependent effective interaction given by the Bloch-Horowitz (BH) equation is evaluated for various shell-model oscillator spaces. The results are applied to the test case of the three-body problem (H and He), where it is shown that the interaction reproduces the exact binding energy, regardless of the parameterization (number of oscillator quanta or value of the oscillator...
متن کاملEffective one-body approach to general relativistic two-body dynamics
We map the general relativistic two-body problem onto that of a test particle moving in an effective external metric. This effective-one-body approach defines, in a non-perturbative manner, the late dynamical evolution of a coalescing binary system of compact objects. The transition from the adiabatic inspiral, driven by gravitational radiation damping, to an unstable plunge, induced by strong ...
متن کاملThree-body halos. II. From two- to three-body asymptotics.
The large distance behavior of weakly bound three-body systems is investigated. The Schr odinger equation and the Faddeev equations are reformulated by an expansion in eigenfunctions of the angular part of a corresponding operator. The resulting coupled set of e ective radial equations are then derived. Both twoand three-body asymptotic behavior are possible and their relative importance is st...
متن کاملThe problem of water body status misclassification—a Hierarchical Approach
This article addresses the issue of estimating probability of misclassification (PoM), when assessing the status of a water body (w.b.). The standard deviation of a monitoring data is considered a good measure of the uncertainty of the assessed w.b. status. However, when PoM is to be estimated from the biological data, a problem caused by too few monitoring data emerges. The problem is overcome...
